The Nissan Sentra Cup will take place in three Canadian provinces in 2025!

Launched in 2015 as the Micra Cup, the Nissan Sentra Cup is celebrating its tenth anniversary and its eleventh season on Canadian tracks this year. This remarkable longevity in motorsports is paired with innovation and competitive accessibility, as the Nissan Sentra race cars are nearly stock and identical for all drivers on the track.
The 2025 season will feature twelve races with two major changes: these 12 races will now be spread across five events, as opposed to six. Two of them will feature three races in the same weekend while the other three events will feature two races each. A new province will also be included in the schedule.
As usual, the season will kick off at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (CTMP) in Bowmanville, northeast of Toronto, Ontario. This complex is the home of Canadian motorsports. With its welcoming facilities and challenging 3.9 km circuit — which has hosted the Canadian Formula 1 Grand Prix eight times — CTMP will welcome the Nissan Sentra Cup as part of its Victoria Day Weekend event, from May 16 to 18.
After hosting a US-based event at Lime Rock Park, Connecticut, last year, the Nissan Sentra Cup will once again offer fans something new and exciting by heading to Nova Scotia this season. The event will take place near the town of Shubénacadie, north of Halifax at Atlantic Motorsport Park (AMP). This track plays an important role in Canada's motorsport history, having celebrated its 50th anniversary last fall.
In August 1974, Formula Atlantic rookie Gilles Villeneuve, along with other drivers of the series, inaugurated the 2.575 km-long Atlantic Motorsport Park track. More than half a century later, racing fans in the Maritime provinces will have the chance to witness a professional racing series at AMP for the first time since 1985, from June 20 to 22. To mark this special occasion, double the regular race points will be awarded to Nissan Sentra Cup drivers at the end of this event.
Two weeks later, Quebec will host the third edition of the Nissan Grand Prix at the Complexe ICAR in Mirabel, Quebec. A major success with both Nissan enthusiasts and motorsport fans, this event attracted over 3,000 spectators last year. It will take place on Sunday, July 6.
The second Quebec event will follow a month later, with the Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières (GP3R). Scheduled for August 8-10, this will mark the 55th edition of the event, which should once again feature the largest Nissan Sentra Cup starting grid of the season, with spectators filling the stands along this renowned street circuit.
The season grand finale will see competitors back at CTMP on Labour Day Weekend, from August 29 to 31. This will be the moment to crown the 2025 season champion.
"After racing in the United States in 2024, I am very proud to mark the Nissan Sentra Cup’s debut in a third Canadian province this year, with this exciting event in Nova Scotia. I believe the 2025 calendar will please everyone, especially racing fans in Quebec, Ontario, and the Maritimes. For Nissan Canada, innovation and new challenges have been part of the series’ DNA for over a decade. The Nissan Sentra Cup holds a key place in Canadian motorsport history, and its success demonstrates the passion we have for our products and activities, as well as that of the drivers, officials, and all partners involved in this series," says Trevor Longley, President of Nissan Canada.
The list of drivers competing in the 2025 season, as well as the detailed schedule for the two- and three-race events, will be announced in early spring.
